About my medical practice
My name is Zsuzsa Gombkötő — most people simply call me Suzie. I am a Manual Lymphatic Drainage therapist based in Zurich, trained in the Földi method, with EMR and ASCA recognition and over twenty years of hands-on therapeutic practice in several countries. My academic background is in biology (MSc), and my work now focuses on recovery after aesthetic and plastic surgery.
How I work
Swelling after surgery is not a problem to be forced away. It is part of healing, and how it is treated depends on what was done, how much time has passed, and how the tissue is responding.
For that reason, every treatment is planned individually. Before I begin, I want to know which procedure you had, when, what your surgeon has advised, how your compression is managed, and how your recovery has progressed so far. The technique, pressure and frequency follow from that — and from your surgeon’s instructions.
My approach is based on the Földi method: gentle, structured, and adapted to the stage of healing. I do not work with forceful manipulation or aggressive “fluid squeezing”, and I do not increase intensity simply because a faster result is expected. In the early postoperative phase, restraint is often the more professional choice.

Scope of practice
I work as a therapist, not as a physician. Diagnosis, medical treatment decisions and the timing of postoperative interventions remain with your treating surgeon or doctor. My role is therapy, observation, patient education, and referring you back to medical care when something requires assessment. If I notice anything that should be reviewed by a doctor, I will tell you clearly and ask you to contact your surgeon.
